Historic downtown Richmond Hill, Queens was once a vibrant district with a movie theater, ice cream parlor and soda fountain, and numerous eateries. Now, it is crumbling and disheveled, with most of its historic relics now gone. The old RKO theater is now a flea market; the ice cream parlor is now a "lounge" that never seems to be open. Paint is peeling and signs are falling as the once-booming district turns to disarray. The goal of this series is to highlight the historical and architectural details of historic Richmond Hill amidst its new state of disrepair.
